Louise first studied a Bachelor of Biotechnology Innovation at QUT in Brisbane, graduating in 2008 with First Class Honours and a University Academic Medal.

She returned to university to study optometry in 2012, and completed her Masters of Optometry in 2016, graduating with Distinction and a University Academic Medal.

While studying optometry, she worked as a research assistant at QUT in the Contact Lens and Visual Optics Laboratory, gaining experience with specialty contact lenses. She is a current member of the Cornea and Contact Lens Society of Australia.

Louise served as an observer on the Optometry Australia Board (Queensland and Northern Territory Division) in 2016 and 2017.

Louise has worked in independent optometry practices in Brisbane for seven years, and joined the Insight Optometrists/Vedelago Optometrists team in August 2019.

Louise enjoys practicing all aspects of optometry and interacting with patients of all ages, and is qualified to prescribe medicated eye drops drugs to treat a range of eye infections and conditions. She has particular interests in contact lenses, children’s vision and the diagnosis, prevention and early treatment of eye diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.
